Well the summer holidays are here and we have had some lovely guests who have written us such wonderful reviews on TripAdvisor, here are some of them for you to see.

Apartment 6

Just back from a wonderful relaxing holiday in this lovely flat more than enough room for Nanny, Grandad, Mum, Dad two little boys and a toddler. The flat was spotless clean through out and has the most amazing views over Harlyn bay. It was lovely to just sit and gaze out to sea and watch the ever changing sea and skyline on the balcony….. But having three boys with us, meant we went to the beach every day which is a short safe walk away …..Harlyn bay beach has been our favourite beach for more than 25 years and is perfect for families. This was our first time staying in The Yellow Sands apartments we would highly recommend it. !!!

Sharmalyn House

This is the fourth time we have stayed at Yellow Sands properties and the first time at Sharmalyn House. We went with another family of four and the house was plenty big enough for all of us. The house was spick and span when we arrived and there was everything we could need to make our stay comfortable. Body-boards and chairs to borrow and tumble dryer for those damp towels. We love the beach at Harlyn Bay as it is safe for the children. There are brilliant shops for supplies in St Merryn and of course Padstow is 5 minutes away. The walk to the beach really is a few minutes away. Sharmalyn is a perfect house to stay in a perfect location. We’ll be back!!

Apartment 7

We’ve stayed at Yellow Sands for 10 years in a row which speaks volumes. Owners, Martin and Debbie care very much about their guests and make sure to spend time on arrival to ensure you are settled in and know your way around. Our apartment is always immaculate and is a home from home for us. The position of the apartment is perfect for our family. A beautiful and safe walk down Sandy Lane and through the ‘kissing gate’ to the wee path that takes you to the heart of the safe and stunning Harlyn Beach. The pub down the round is great for family friendly lunch and dinner and some great local live music. St Merryn is up the road, Padstow 10 minuts drive and neighbouring beaches a coastal walk away. It’s a beautiful spot but the trick is finding somewhere homely and welcoming to stay where you can experience it all from and where you really feel you get your moneys worth and Yellow sands is it for us.

Just to let you know Bodmin town centre is now open again and you can drive through with no problems.

There are still roadwork’s on the A30 so we have put the link to the highway’s website on again to help you avoid them

It’s almost Whitsun so summer must be here, at last the weather is in agreement and the sun is shining.

They are in the process of putting the tents up for the Royal Cornwall show, this year from Thursday 8^th to Saturday 10^th June 2017, it’s always worth a visit.

Here at Yellow Sands we are in the middle of our annual revamp, we have been painting, carpet cleaning and spring cleaning all round.

Sharmalyn house is having a new bathroom and being retiled in the master en-suite, looking very nice, we have also skimmed some of the ceilings and put extra lights in the master bedroom, replacing the flooring in the second double en-suite and shower cubicle.  Apartment 4 is getting some new flooring, Apartment 5 second double/twin has been repainted with new blinds and pictures. Then we will move up to apartment 6 and 7 and see what need doing up there, one floor at a time. By then the builder, plumber and electrician should be finished in Sharmalyn house and we can paint and spring clean in there.  All ready for another busy season, we hope to see you soon.

It’s nice to be  back, the website has been down for a week as we transferred our domain name, who knew something so simple would take so long.

January is now behind us, shame really as that’s the time we have a bit of a rest, but we  have the builders in Sharmalyn house retiling and  putting a new bathroom in the master en-suite and we are about to start the painting and refurbishing where needed.
