Welcome back to Cornwall

Dear All,

We hope this email finds you and your family safe and well.

We are getting Yellow Sands ready to open from 4th July and really look forward to seeing everyone back again.

Restaurants and cafés are opening on 4th July but are also doing takeaways if you don’t want to sit in.

The Attractions are opening but are suggesting that people call and book a time to visit to avoid disappointment as they have to reduce the number of people allowed in

A comprehensive list can be found in the

Visit Cornwall site https://www.visitcornwall.com/

Or Padstow Live https://padstowlive.com

We are taking some precautions to keep everybody safe by covering the tops of wooden furniture with coverings that can be disinfected and put plastic table clothes on the dining tables. We are minimising touch points by taking out any knickknacks, books, games, videos and cushions (you can bring your own if you wish) things we can’t disinfect properly. We have covered the sofa’s with throws that can be washed at 60 degrees between guests.

There will be hand sanitisers in the front hall and we ask everyone to use it on entry.

We have been asking people, if possible, to bring their own bed linen or at least pillows and cases, space allowing, to minimise risk.

Also we have had to say that only the people booked in will be allowed into each property and no visitors will be allowed on site or in any of the properties, again to minimise the risk to all.

Unfortunately arrival time will probably be an hour or two later as we are just coming to grips with the new cleaning system so will let you know more definite nearer the time.

We will also have to ask you to vacate the property no later than 10am so we can get going with the cleaning promptly.

It’s going to be an odd year but we will get through it together.

We look forward to seeing you all soon, and will be in touch with any further updates prior to your arrival .

Regards

Debbie and Martin

Hello From Cornwall

Over the last few  months we have had some lovely emails form our band of regular guests, thank you  all.

We are safe and well down here, thankfully, and hope you all are too. We have had to disappoint a lot of  quests this year some poor people  who where booked in for  April re booked for June in the hope all would be well by then but alas we had to move them on again, some to as far as next year.

The tourist board thinks we will be able to reopen  in July so fingers crossed, if by some chance we are able to open before we will let you know.

All the flowers have gone unlooked at this year in the gardens and the animals in the zoo’s are getting lonely, the beach is empty, not long now till they all have  some company.

See you soon

Debbie and Martin

Rain stopped play

We hope you are all keeping safe and well, rain has stopped the outside painting and gardening here so we are having a few restful days and calling family members who are in lockdown alone, make a difference and call someone.

Thanks to the lovely weather we did have the apple tree is in full blossom and we have had our first roses.

The weatherman is forecasting dry weather again from this afternoon so we will be back to it very soon.

We have been receiving some very funny videos from friends to keep us laughing so I have put one below for you to have a laugh too.

Lockdown (Official Music Video) 😂

It's the video you've all been waiting for!Johnny's written and filmed a little ditty about life in lockdown 😂

Hello From Yellow Sands

We would like to send our best wishes to all our guests and hope you are all keeping well during these extraordinary times.  To everyone who has been in touch thank you for your kind words they are very appreciated – its been great to hear from you.

We are looking forward to when we are able to reopen and welcome everybody back to Yellow Sands when the restrictions are lifted.

Thankfully, due to the extremely good weather, Martin has been painting the outside of the apartments at Yellow Sands, its a bit like the Forth bridge so has been keeping him busy and its looking very  smart. I have been staining the decking and garden furniture at home, I will be able to put my roses  back out in the sun now, and sorted out an area of weed and bramble with some plants choking to stay alive in the middle, the poor Elder was jammed against the shed now it has light. I have put some pictures below.

We’ll be ready and waiting for you with a warm welcome.

In the meantime please stay home and stay safe. We hope to see you soon!

Best Wishes,
Debbie and Martin

Spring at Last

It was such a lovely day today so we thought we would take a day off from spring cleaning and carpet cleaning at Yellow Sands and go and have lunch (locally made sausages, garlic mash, broccoli spears and kale, excellent food) and see the spring  flowers at the Lost Gardens of  Heligan.

Camellia’s, daffs, primroses all growing happily in the spring sunshine.  After all the wind and rain we have had this winter if was a welcome break.

In no time at all it will be  March and time to start welcoming everyone back to Yellow Sands for their well earned holidays.

We hope to see you soon.

Happy New Year

Can’t believe its another new year let alone a new decade, I wonder if the 2020’s will be described as the roaring twenties like the 1920’s, let hope  so and for all the right reasons.

We are just going out to walk off a few mince pies with clotted cream, the odd pound has been put on over christmas!

We  wish all our guests a very happy and healthy New Year and look forward to seeing  you all again in 2020.
